Cheap Insurance Can Pay For Your Vacation!

When I was 17 my family moved from suburbia in Littleton, Colorado out to the mountains of Idaho 20 minutes away from a tiny (population 600!) town called Kooskia. It was at least a large adjustment and more like culture shock, but I loved it. We lived in a large log cabin surrounded by 105 acres of forest, rivers, and rolling hills. So naturally we invited some of our friends from Colorado to come visit. Unfortunately it seems that just about everyone that came to visit got in some sort of accident. You see, the last few miles of road between Kooskia and our house were gravel. There were lots of windy bends and tight corners, with obstacles ranging from large pot holes and washboard roads to white tail deer and porcupines! Take note that gravel does not grip your tires as you round a tight corner at high speed. Rather, it is more like a sheet of ice. It slips and slides and gives at slightest hint of centripetal force. To make matters worse, some of the more benign looking corners actually sloped away from the turn making it much easier to fishtail and loose control.

Most teenagers feel that they are very skilled drivers and can handle the rigors of backwoods roads. When Rachael and Lisa came to visit they were no different. They drove the roads like any suburbanite would... as though they were driving on pavement. Well as you might have guessed, on their last day of the visit, as they were headed home, Rachael spun out in her Buick Skylark. She lost control going around one of those tight washboard bends. She fishtailed to one side and then the other overcorrecting each time. Her back end came all the way around, and she slid sideways off the road facing back the way she came, and jammed the back passenger quarter into a rock. The back tire took the brunt of the force and had gone flat because the seal broke between the tire and the rim. Shaken up but not hurt, they waved down a passing truck and we called the wrecker to pull them out of the ditch.

So here is the good news. Rachel had some good quality cheap insurance! The tire bead reseated and re-inflated without any problem, and the big dent in the rear corner was only cosmetic. The door and trunk still opened and closed nicely. Insurance paid out for the repairs and the wrecker service, but Rachael chose not to repair the car. Instead she took the cash and paid off her loan! Basically she traded a car with a loan payment and no dents for a scary experience, and a free and clear car with a dent! The moral of the story is drive safe, know your limitations, and have good quality auto insurance.

How to Compare Auto Insurance Rates Online

It is very easy to compare auto insurance rates in Florida. You just have to keep a few things in mind when you are searching for better car insurance rates.

The quickest way to compare rates is by using a company on the internet that will give you the names and contact information on all of the auto insurers that can give you lower rates than what you are currently paying.

You can compare auto insurance rates by what your current coverage is or you can do a simple comparison based on what levels of liability the state of Florida requires you to have.

If you are a registered driver in the state of Florida you must carry personal injury protection (PIP), bodily injury protection and property damage liability. Florida is a No-Fault state which means that your insurance pays for injuries or damages no matter who was at fault.

You must carry personal injury and property liability coverage which means $10, 000 per person in one accident and $10, 000 to cover property damage for each accident. You should talk with an insurance professional to further discuss additional coverage.

If you are comfortable inputting your information online within minutes you will have a number of insurance companies, their initial rate quotes and their contact information. Keep in mind these are preliminary quotes and once you provide them with more detailed information you will be able to accurately compare auto insurance rates between Florida companies.

When you are comparing auto insurance rates make sure that you also take into account how reputable the company is. You can get cheaper rates now but it will quickly become a pay me now or pay me later situation if the cheaper company is not around when you need them. Take your time when you are trying to compare auto insurance rates in Florida.

Finding Lower Auto Insurance Quotes

If you are sick of paying increasing car insurance premiums you should start looking for lower Texas auto insurance quotes. Not all car insurance companies are created equal and their rates are proof of that.

You should first know the amount of coverage that you need to carry in Texas. If you currently have insurance coverage you probably already have that area in check. Start shopping around either by calling local agents or looking up companies on the internet.

There are actually companies on the internet that will compare the rates for you. All you have to do is answer some questions about yourself, your vehicle and your current coverage and you will be able to make some educated comparisons between Texas auto insurers.

Once you get the quotes from the internet you can call the insurance company yourself and speak with them over the phone or meet with them locally. Make sure that you are comfortable with your insurance agent and know what levels of coverage you must have to drive in Texas.

You can also find lower auto insurance by finding companies that offer discounts to their customers. There are a number of discounts available that can dramatically cut your rates. Check out the safe driver's discount if you have not had any claims or traffic violations within the past three years.

If you are a high school or college student and still live at home you may qualify for a good student discount if you keep your grades up. Senior drivers could qualify for a discount and most drivers will benefit from a defensive driving class.

Ask your insurance agent about brining your other insurance policies to his or her company as well. Many companies give a discount for "bundling" your health, car, life and homeowners insurance.

There are a number of ways to cut down on the cost of auto insurance coverage. Make sure you check out every avenue when putting together your Texas auto insurance quotes.
